Course illustrations: Part 1
I was tasked by Region Stockholm with creating illustrations for a digital parental support course for parents with ADHD. The illustrations were published on 1177.se, which is a Swedish website providing information, advice, and services in health and care.
The assignment aimed to replace previous illustrations that had become a bit outdated. The client wanted a modern and playful style with a hand-drawn feel. It was also important that the illustrations were in an oblong format, so that they could be easily integrated into the running text, and that they were colored to match the region's graphic profile.
The client wanted one illustration that described a lack of patience in some way, and 3 connected illustrations that described a realistic process, compared to one's own ideas of an ideal process.

404 - Patience missing
With this illustration, I was given a very free hand. The client's only requirements were that it should describe a lack of patience and be in an oblong format.
As a first draft, I drew a tombstone with the text "Here lies My Patience". However, the client felt that the message was a bit too sad, which I could absolutely understand.
Version 1 (too gloomy 💀)

I then tried to think of a relatable representation that was less gloomy, while still fitting the situation and format. I realized that something most people encounter on the internet is 404 pages (page is missing). This could be a more modern, relatable, and less emotionally charged alternative. The colors were chosen based on the organization's graphic profile, and the client was very pleased.
Translated into English the text says "Patience.html could not be found".
Version 2 (accepted ✅)

Visualizing a process
The client wanted three connected illustrations showing what a process often looks like in reality, compared to one's own ideas. I was given the headings "Wishful Thinking", "The Plan" and "Reality" to work with.
Wishful thinking
From start to finish (mål) with no setbacks or intermediate steps.

The plan
From start to finish (mål) in a straight line, with well-planned intermediate steps (steg).

Reality
From start to finish with ups and downs and (sometimes chaotic) detours.
